January 2013: MMC participated in the Mumbai Marathon yet again! We are excited to have over 250 runners raising funds and support for our cause this year.

December 2012: We hosted the Annual Camp for our children at J.J. Nursing Home. Children were entertained by a number of enthralling acts and were able to participate in competitions, games, and activities for the week of Dec. 17th to 21st.

October 2012: In another capacity building effort, our teachers attended first aid courses in which they learned basic principles and response techniques for medical emergencies. With these skills, our teachers are well prepared to handle any medical issue at the centres.

August 2012: At the MMC Bal Palika graduation ceremony, 13 women received their training certificates. Of these, 11 are from construction sites, demonstrating that our concerted efforts to train women living on sites are yielding great results. The year-long training not only provides community women with valuable professional skills and knowledge that will allow them to work as childcare givers, but also encourages community investment in childcare and education programmes.

July 2012: Taj Vivanta Hotel chefs visited our centre and then the teachers had the opportunity to visit the Taj kitchens and learn some very important culinary concepts from some of the city’s most talented chefs. This hands-on experience improved our teachers’ understanding of the importance of hygienic food preparation and taught them how to keep food preparation spaces safe and clean.

16^th January 2011: Nearly 200 people ran in support of MMC at the Mumbai Marathon. Thank you to American School of Bombay, AFL, DHFL, Johnson Controls, Macquarie Capital Advisers, Macquarie Securities and TATA Motors for your support!

6^th – 10th December 2010: All MMC centres participated in the first annual Book Week dedicated to bringing the joy of reading to children living on construction sites. It was an eventful and fun week – children took part in child to child exchanges with other schools, visited local libraries, conducted reading sessions with their parents, listened to book readings, took part in a book sale and so much more!

16^th – 26th November 2010: MMC co-sponsored the 10-day “Shine On” festival with three other NGOs to raise funds and awareness for children’s education.

6^th June 2009: MMC is happy to announce the release of our new website! Thank you to all the people who made it possible, specially to Mishika and Rabia from RGD design and Sergio Nogales.

17^th February 2009: 50 women who live on construction sites - and are currently either teachers at MMC or undergoing our teacher's training open bank accounts with ICICI Bank. A first for most of them and a very emotional moment for all of us! Thank you to ICICI Bank for this wonderful initiative.

18^th January 2009: Team MMC consisted of nearly 300 people at the Mumbai Marathon. A wonderful fun filled event! Thank you to Johnson Controls, NYK Line and Logistics and Macquarie Securities for being our corporate sponsors.

13^th November 2008: A new Mumbai Mobile Creches center was inagurated by the Dr. Indu Shahani, the sheriff of Mumbai at Lower Parel for Peninsula Constructions!!

19^th May 2008: Our children won a global enviromental award in Hong-Kong, see related article at Hindustan times for more details.
